Step with confidence into a process of change where you start with yourself in your body, mind, and spirit, so that those around you may be captivated to change as well, Echale ganas mijo!
I’m a first-generation kid of immigrant parents who raised me on one phrase: “Échale ganas.” Try your hardest. They said it when I was doing something I loved, and especially when I was uncomfortable. Early on, I learned that one of the most fulfilling things I could do was make them proud. I still remember hearing those words after watching them come home exhausted from work—serving tables, doing construction, cleaning properties. And somehow, even after long days, they would still sit with me and try to help with homework. When they didn’t understand it, they offered to pay for a tutor they couldn’t afford. I understand now that there was something more powerful than money behind that offer: sacrifice.
That same value pushed me to get a college degree when I didn’t really want to and to start creating content so I could give back to them for everything they gave up for me. Looking back, every major turning point in my life started with sacrifice—leaving the stability of a 9–5 to chase a dream, skipping parties my senior year to train 5–6 days a week, trading junk food for discipline. Confidence came from trusting that better habits would lead to better results. And maybe that’s what you’re missing—not more motivation or the perfect time, but the decision to let go of what’s not serving you, choose what will, and give it everything you have. Decide. Sacrifice. Y échale ganas.
